There are also a number of wineries and there are still a number of great restaurants and shops in the Providence area, as well as a variety of specialty shops and cafes.
There are dozens of colleges, and Providence has a disproportionate number of avant-garde and contemporary artists. Traditional painters and craftsmen abound, of course, but Providence is bold, cheap and quirky.
For those who are content with a short walk, Hotel Providence offers boutique accommodation that is far from the large franchises that populate most capital cities. History buffs can enjoy vintage elegance at the Providence Museum of Art, while others can enjoy the seafood chain McCormick & Schmick, which is within walking distance of the city's most popular tourist attractions, including the Rhode Island Museum. The Warwick Mall offers entertainment, shopping and dining options, but there is more. The shopping centre offers a variety of entertainment and shopping options, as well as a variety of food and drinks and live entertainment.
