I've been here a dozen times, with a group, and with that "special" person,...it's always the ABSOLUTE best! (no, I don't work there, and I'm NOT a relative) If you don't want to compromise, and if you enjoy being a short walk from Pastiche,...try it. I've given gift certificates to others from here, and EVERYONE raves about it. I've enjoyed meals in practically every name restaurant in Providence,(and in more "no-name's), but when I want the best, this is always my destination. As for the "other" steak house in Prov - send your management over for dinner and then compare for yourselves.
Pros: Atmosphere, service, ...the FOOD!
Cons: it's 60 minutes from my home,...and there can be a wait

I just ate at Prime for the first time and it was amazing. The chef there really listens and prepares your steak exactly how you ask for it. I like my steaks well-done, and I know chefs usually think that ruins the meat so they tend to undercook it. But the chef here got my steak exactly right! And my fiance ordered her steak medium-rare and hers was perfect too. I feel so stuffed because I couldn't stop eating the delicious food. Amazing french onion soup too.
